Hi everybody. I have an open room in a 2 bedroom apartment in the Lower East Side on the edge of Chinatown for a March 1 move-in. This will be a sublet through my current roommate who is living elsewhere, but once the lease is up on September 1, you will have the option to get on the lease yourself.

THE PLACE: 4th floor walk-up in an old-school tenement building. Your room is on the cozier side but is still big enough to easily fit a queen size bed and dresser. The furniture and things in the photos are mine so the room will be largely unfurnished, but there will be a full-size bed in the room until my current roommate moves out and takes it with him. It comes with an A/C fixed into the window and also has a pretty deep closet offering plenty of storage space. Utilities total about $60-90/month per person depending on the time of year.

YOUR ROOMMATE (ME): I’m 27 and work in tech for a media startup. I work remotely from the apartment a lot so I’m home most days. In my spare time, I like relaxing with a good tv show/movie/book, going to the gym, hanging with friends – pretty standard stuff. I’m looking for a roommate who is responsible, respectful, and friendly.

THE NEIGHBORHOOD: The apartment is located at the southwestern edge of the Lower East Side near the Manhattan Bridge. 5 minute walk to the F train at East Broadway and the B/D at Grand St. 10 minute walk to the J/M/Z at Delancey/Essex St. and the N/R/Q/W/6 at Canal St. Plenty of great food and bars nearby with Soho, Tribeca, Little Italy, and East Village all within walking distance. There’s a laundromat right around the corner and a few 24-hour convenience stores within a 2 block radius. Whole Foods on Bowery is a 15 minute walk away.
