Room for rent

Hannah R - $1,300/month

About Me

I'm a CA>NYC transplant, and I've lived in Manhattan in this apartment for a little over two years now!

I'm pretty tidy, and like to keep things clean in the kitchen and living room so that everyone feels comfortable hanging out. Right now the decorating choices in the living room are up in the air, so it's a good opportunity to make it feel like your space, instead of feeling like you're living in someone else's place.

I work full time (and more) at a Biotech startup, and work from home about once a week (in my room). I also travel for work and for fun fairly frequently, so you'll have the apartment to yourself sometimes. In the evenings, I cook occasionally, and go to classes or plays a couple of times a week. I do have people visit or crash with me on the weekends fairly regularly when I'm around, but they always stay in my room and are usually too excited about exploring the city to spend any time in the apartment.

I'm queer, so I'm only looking for LGBTQ+ friendly roommates.

Available Room for Rent

Hannah Rosenfeld

This apartment is in the perfect place if you like to hang out in LES or the East Village. Everything is walkable, but the actual street is pretty quiet with two parks, and the area still has a strong sense of community and a neighborhood vibe. You can walk out to the East River walk area in less than 10 minutes, which has a track (currently under renovation) and several sports fields. It's perfect for running or just getting outside. We are also down the street from an city-run outdoor olympic sized pool that has free lap swimming all summer.

The place is "garden level," which means that it is halfway below street level. Unlike a true basement, it has full size windows in the bedrooms and the kitchen. We have a separate entrance from the rest of the building, except for the one other apartment on our level, and it goes directly out to the large deck. I like to have BBQs out there when the weather is nice. If you bike, you can leave your bike in the basement hall or back porch. We also have access to a good sized deck on the roof!

The bedroom available faces the street and is big enough for a queen sized bed, dresser, and a desk and some floor space. My current roommate actually has a king sized bed, desk, a large dresser, and a cubby set in there, but it's a squeeze. There is a large closet off of the living room that goes with the room. The living room is between the bedrooms, so they don't share a wall with each other.

The common spaces are the kitchen, bathroom, and living room. The kitchen has marble countertops and a nice stove/oven set with a good amount of cabinet space. The bathroom is pretty standard with a shower/bath. The living room has a dining room table, and bookshelf with room for a couch.

I'm looking for a roommate who is down to share the responsibility of keeping the common areas clean either by taking turns with chores, or splitting the cost of a cleaner.
