There's laundry in the building, an elevator, 24-hour doorman, dishwasher, great water pressure, & my place is only 3 blocks from Union Sq & Washington Sq Park. Very bright, homey, hyper-convenient 1 BR + loft w/ 24-hour doorman, elevator, laundry room, bike storage & storage in the basement (for extra fees to the building), skylight in the living room, & rooftop terrace for the building that is down the hall. There's NO TV. Full kitchen (though small-ish), full bathroom (shared), fabulous couch, nice (natural) lighting, and dining table that seats 2-4. SONOS system.
I live upstairs in the open plan loft space and work there too. Private terrace off my BR, of limited use to you. I'm an environmentalist so I compost and, in summer, grow vegetables, flowers, fruit, & herbs upstairs -- a treat if you like to eat what I like to cook (I'm vegetarian and love trying my hand at all kinds of international cuisines)! I also have a fantastic 4 year-old cat named Ziggy Stardust.
Your room has a queen bed, ample storage, bookshelf, WiFi, self-controlled HVAC, white noise machine, plants (if you don't mind / do want), and south-facing windows with full view of the sky. Also, partial views of Freedom Tower & Grace Church. No need for anything but your clothes, books, computer, etc.! Everything is included in the price (WiFi, heat/air condition, electricity...). I've listed it month-to-month but am actually seeking a multi-month roommate, up to 12 months. If you're looking to room w/ me for a full year and would prefer an unfurnished room, I can move everything out and discount the price a bit.
