Anna O H - $1,350/month

My name is Anna and my partner Aleksi and I are looking for a roommate or two to share a creative space in New York City this August/September for a one year lease.

We are both 25 and originally from Montreal but have lived in several cities (Chicago, Paris, Edinburgh) for school/work. We love to travel!

In the next month, I will begin a fully funded PhD in art history at CUNY, which is the reason why we are moving to nyc. Aleksi is a folk musician. He will not be living in the apartment with us full time until January when he will have finished a project in Montreal. Until January, he will visit me for a week or two here.

We have some furniture, our style is eclectic but leans towards mid-century modern. We are open to your furniture, too if you have! We would also like to bring our art into the space (see the attached pictures) as well as instruments. We hope to get a piano and Aleksi plays several instruments including the violin, mandolin, ukulele and guitar. Although he is a musician, he would not play these any louder than a stereo (he can also play with a mute) and is very respectful of the hours he keeps. He is also often on tour and will be looking for an external rehearsal space once he moved to new york full time in January.

Essentially, we are tidy and respectful roommates looking for the same. We drink socially and do not do drugs—what you do on your time is your business but please no cigarettes indoors. We are also interested in hosting the occasional cocktail party or jam session, but for the most part, our evening will be on the quieter side.

** We do have a cat! His name is Mew (yes, named after the Pokemon…). He is a very lovable 4 year old grey rescued cat. He is friendly and enjoys napping in the sun. He is also declawed (not by us).
