I'm looking for a roommate beginning August 6 to share this beautiful 2BR 2.5BA with who has a similar lifestyle/interests. A little about me to see if we're a good match before I tell you about the apartment:
I'm 29, male, and I teach the LSAT and GMAT for a living. I'm originally from Boston but I went to school out west at Claremont McKenna and I've been trying to get back to sunny SoCal ever since I left. Finally made it back - I'm flying in on August 6, the day the lease begins. In Boston, I spent most of my free time playing pick-up soccer, rock climbing, playing saxophone (just learning so not very good yet!), and playing games with friends (25 Words or Less, Hanabi, Dominion, Cards Against Humanity, etc.). I also go to a few music festivals a year (Decadence, Summer Camp, and Electric Forest this year). Like everyone else I love shows like Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, and Westworld. I also watch a lot of sports: NFL, NBA, and tennis, mostly.
I'm super tidy and want common spaces to stay clean. You do you with your own room and bathroom. I'm a vegetarian/near vegan, but I don't mind if you eat meat.
Since I mostly teach when students are out of school/work, my work schedule is pretty non-standard, and about half of my work is online. I'll be teaching nights during the week and Saturdays during the day, for the most part, so if you work 9 - 5 we'll probably both have a lot of privacy when we're home.
Once I get settled, I'm planning on getting a mini poodle, so as much as I love dogs, unfortunately no pets allowed until I know if my dog plays well with others.
Apartment details:
Both of the bedrooms have in suite bathrooms, which is really one of the biggest things that attracted me to this apartment, and we've also got the extra half bath for guests.
The living room to kitchen is a nice open and spacious floorplan, and everything is super modern; washer/dryer in unit, fancy ass NEST thermostat. There's a rooftop deck that looks up at the Hollywood sign.
Rent includes two tandem parking spots in the garage.
Building has a small fitness center.
There's a small office, which I'm going to use for when I'm teaching online.
I don't know the area all that well, but something I'm psyched about is Griffith Park being just a walk away. Can't wait to be so close to nature!
The room is $1,700 + utilities. 12 month lease. You'll have to pay a $40 nonrefundable application fee, but as long as you've got a clean criminal record and haven't been evicted, you should be fine.
If you think we're a good match and you're interested in the apartment, please shoot me a text or e-mail (easier to keep track of than calling) and tell me a little bit about yourself - what you do for work, where you're from, what you do for fun, etc. - and we can start a conversation. Obviously I'm not out in LA yet, but if we think we're a good match you can set up a time for the leasing agent to show you the apartment. In the meantime, check out the attached pictures. Note that those are the stock photos from the apartment website, but see the floorplan for our unit's layout.
