Hello LA! My partner and I are looking for a roommate. We are a queer couple who are working professionals in our late 20s/early 30s looking to fill a room in the beautiful Mid-City/Miracle Mile duplex we rent by May or june first.
About the place:
-Spacious three bedroom apartment with hardwood floors in the common areas
- Ten minutes from Cedars-Sinai, five minutes from LACMA, fifteen minutes from Melrose/Fairfax area, ten minutes from the Grove, fifteen minutes from West Hollywood, twenty to thirty minutes east of West LA, twenty minutes west of Silverlake/Echo Park, forty minutes from UCLA
-Beautiful living room
-Spacious dining room and breakfast nook
- quiet residential neighborhood; most of the neighbors have been here since the 60s
-Washer, dryer, central heating and air conditioning
-Two bathrooms
- The building was constructed in the 1920’s (so its rent-controlled) and has endearing Spanish-style architecture details.
Ample street parking, no permit required
-The open room is approx 15.5 ft by 12.5 ft. There is a walk in closet and private bathroom
-month-to-month lease, $1167/month, $1,750 deposit. While the lease is month to month we prefer someone who is willing to stay for at least six months
-credit report required
About us: Aubrey is a social worker from Northern California who has lived in LA for four years. She loves cooking, being outside, seeing live music, seeing art, hanging with her cat Ruby, and likes to practice yoga when she can get her act together. Natalia is a project manager at a graphic design firm and has lived in LA for 15 years. Natalia loves creating art, hiking, camping, and cooking. Both of us are laid back and like to keep the house environment clean, mellow, and quiet in the weekday evenings. We like being social but like to keep the party (with the exception of a dinner party here and there) out of the house.
Ruby is a four or five year old, six pound fluff ball of a cat who is also quiet, sweet, and easy-going. As much as we love animals, we’re maxed out on the pet capacity at this time.
Qualities we’re looking for in a roommate:
Someone in their mid-twenties to mid-thirties, preferably female but we are open to considering guys
Full-time employed or studying full-time with the ability to pay rent
Kind, clean, considerate
Willing to not smoke on the property (that’s the landlord’s rule)
Queer friendly
We think this space is truly special, and want whoever lives here to feel that way as well
