Looking for a roommate in Brooklyn, Manhattan - New York

Josh L - $1,700/month

About Me

Hi! My name is Josh and I'm from the suburbs of Detroit, MI. In October I'll be moving to New York for a new job and I'm looking for a roommate(s)!

A little about me:

- A few years ago I founded a startup called MeditationWorks and I've been running that company for the last 2.5 years. We ended up selling a piece of our business to a larger corporate meditation company, which is why I'm starting a new job in NYC! Before that, I had founded another company called TempoRun, an app that took all the music on your phone and categorized it by tempo so you could always run to the beat. If you can't tell, I really enjoy the startup world.

- I'm very laid back. I like to go out with friends and have fun, but more so I really love relaxing, reading a good book, and just chilling and hanging with good people. I also love being outside. I'm a big runner and I love to hike/be in nature as much as possible.

- I have a cute puppy named Juneau (named after the Alaskan capital). He's an eight months old (as of August 2019) Lab/Shepherd mix, super sweet, and gets along with all humans and dogs. He's literally never growled at anyone or anything. He loves to play, be pet, and just hang around. I will take him to daycare a few days a week, and the days I don't and I'm not working from home, I'll keep him in my room unless my roommate(s) is comfortable leaving him out in the apartment.

All in all, I'm a pretty social, chill, and normal (I like to think so) person. I have some friends in New York already but I'm excited to meet new people.

Josh is my current neighbor (sad to see him leave!) and he’s a really great guy. We hang out quite a bit and he’s extremely nice, outgoing, and his dog is the cutest. He’d make for a great roommate :)

Josh is my former-roommate-turned-best-friend. He is tidy and respectful of shared spaces, and more importantly, he is a kind, smart, energetic, and supportive human. Toward the end of our time living together, we spent every waking moment together on a 2-month road trip along the West Coast, living out of a car and tent, and still, I would live with him again in a heartbeat (and you better believe that we have toyed with the idea).

Josh is hands down one of the best people I’ve ever known. We’ve been good friends for about 12 or so years, and for that I’m truly grateful. He’s one of those people you just don’t get sick of, adding value to each and every experience we’ve had together. He brings creativity, thought, and humor everywhere he goes. Though we’ve never actually lived together, I have zero doubts that Josh is the kind of guy anyone would be lucky to have as a roommate.
