I didn't realize this was going to be like one of those dating sites. Another thing is I have no idea how to connect or figure out who might want to reach out to me or vice versa. Seems there's a notice only when both people "like" each other?
Oh well, here goes:
New Yorker but with a long time spent in the Midwest. Back after 15 years away and getting familiar with NYC again. Open to male and women roommates; it's more about getting along and respecting each others' space. I'm open to professionals and am not putting a limit on age.
I'm an attorney and work at a nonprofit in Harlem. Looking for a low key living situation - I'm likely going to be splitting time between the city and Long Island, where my family lives. But I have a 3 hour daily commute and that's starting to wear on me. When I'm home I tend to chill and unwind and perhaps be an introvert after a long day/week of dealing with Human Resources issues.
After so long in the Midwest, I'm still getting sticker shock on real estate prices here. And find it that much more crazy because work and play in NYC means not much time is spent at home. When I am at home I'm probably lounging, reading, and otherwise relaxing. No huge dinner parties from me; partly because I'm still getting reacquainted and because my gatherings are usually bars and restaurants.
If it's helpful to the conversation, I like photography, theater, and finding cool bars. I used to have a good variety of whiskeys but am thinking I'm going to more explore teas. That said, I also love negronis and old fashioneds and at some point need to learn to make them. I'm a pescaterian but typically only cook veggie dishes at home.
I expect that I'll be home about half the time and visiting the LI family half the time. I figure a 50/50 split on the place and costs seems fair. However, I'm open to a little difference in rent if means we can lock down a good place.
