Looking for a roommate in East Bay - San Francisco

Jessa H - $1,100/month

About Me

I'm looking for my new home AND/OR a roomie(s) to find a place together (because with the rents so high now we'll get more if not living solo).

I like to think of my pad as a sanctuary of sorts and would love to find a peaceful place with some sort of outdoor space, a bathtub and washer/dryer. I'm mainly interested in Alameda and places near BART or public transport but would prefer areas where I don't have to drive too far to get to fun stuff and people will come visit us.

I'm a responsible, professional, extroverted woman in my 40s who is working as a consultant for KQED Education department, have good references and a good credit score and can pay up to $1100/month (but lower is always better).

And if you think we'd make good housemates, here's a little bit more about me (maybe TMI, but I'm amazed at how little people share about themselves in the postings I've seen considering they could end up living together):

During the week I'm pretty mellow: going to yoga, making dinner, reading, watching DVDs, etc. I tend to work from home 2 days a week, 3 days in SF and spend several weeknights and every other weekend in the city at my boyfriend's (English professor). That said I'm also community-oriented and also like having BBQs, board game nights, group crafting/creative projects and people coming by for dinner sometimes. Additionally, I dig camping, jewelry-making, hiking, crafting, hot springs, travel, volunteering and going dancing or to festivals.

I prefer things kind of tidy and uncluttered but I'm not super uptight about it and I'd say I'm only about average in cleanliness. I'm not much of a pot-smoker but I'm 420 friendly. I've got a spiritual side and like to meditate but not super woo-woo. I don't have any pets but would love to live with a kitty. I don't have a lot of furniture.

As for the kind of roomie(s) I'd be looking for: easy-going, easy-going, easy-going, grounded, kind, responsible, mature, direct communicators, not too noisy or messy and can contribute a good amount to rent so we can get a great place (if you don't already have one to share).

Please email if you have a place and include details about THE PLACE and YOU OR if you would like to look for a place together and think we'd be a good match, please let me know more about you and what you're looking for in a roomie and area.

Happy hunting!

Best, Jessa
