Looking for a roommate in Brooklyn, Manhattan - New York

Lisa K - $2,500/month

About Me

Who I Am
I am a single, female, teacher, 40, searching for a high quality roommate to share a two bedroom/two bath apartment rental for a six month to one year lease (preferably one year). Move in date is flexible over the 2018 summer (June, July, August) as it is most important to find the right place and person. Shared rent for me limits at $2500 per month so any lease with a total monthly rent over $5000 a month would not be a choice. Ideally, I would like to be closer to the $1500 per person and total monthly rent near the $3000 range. I would also consider more bedrooms (3B3B, etc.) in the apartment and/or an additional roommate(s) provided bathrooms are not shared.
Where I Would Like to Live
Both the city and Long Island are appealing and I am flexible here as well. The security of the apartment, quality of the location, and comfort of the residence are most important to me. I'd like to rent where amenities are available in the building, but if not, then at least close by (gym, yoga, etc.). Things like a washer and dryer in the apartment, for me, are essential. I am sorry but I cannot live with a smoker. In addition, I am not big on night life and a non-traditional schedule doesn't suit me. I generally like to be in bed by 11pm on weeknights with an occasional exception.
Living with Me
I am completing a PhD (this doesn't mean I am boring) so I will be relatively engaged with writing as well as work. I am quiet, clean, and respectful. I am looking for someone like minded, no matter the age. I feel like home should be a sort of sanctuary where one can unwind as well as focus on work and enjoy hobbies. I am easy going and friendly, but won't have much company of my own. I do not mind occasional visits from friends, family, and significant others of my roommate and it would be wonderful if we became good friends.
Please contact me with information about your desired living situation if you are looking for a similar roommate.
