Looking for a roommate in Queens, Brooklyn, Manhattan - New York

Noelle G - $1,500/month

About Me

Hi! I'm moving back to New York in August for the 3rd & most likely the final time to teach at a small college in Manhattan. I study film and television (industry, history, & aesthetics) so I watch a lot of good stuff and I'm very happy to be back near all of the art house cinemas in NYC. My speciality is New York City films and location shooting, so I have plenty of fun facts. I also bartended for years in music venues in New York and I'm still very interested in the music scene. I see bands regularly (tix to Nick Cave in October!) and occasionally sing with some friends in bands.

I'll have a busy but unusual work schedule, so I may work some mornings from home-- mostly during the week. I generally socialize out of the house but enjoy occasionally having small groups over. Ideally, I'd like to live near a park, a reasonably priced yoga studio, and a farmers market. I cook irregularly but like the option, so a good grocery & farmers market would be great. I lived in Crown Heights last year and loved it, so that area or South Slope/ Kensington would be great but I'm pretty open.

Non-essential preferences include: proximity to the 4, 5, or Q train, Washer/ Dryer in unit or building, dishwasher. Essentials include a room that fits more than a queen size bed, an actual living room, and a kitchen that's more than a kitchenette. I have a fantasy of splitting a 3 br with just one person and making the 3rd room an office/ guest room for the occasional visitor, but that' definitely not a requirement. Willing to live in deep Brooklyn, some parts of Queens, or way upper Manhattan to make at least some of these things possible! I don't have pets but am up for living with a good dog or a cat.
