Hey!
I am looking to find an affordable room within walking distance of the Rutgers University campus. I have been offered (and accepted) a role as a full time research technician in a neuroscience laboratory there. I recently graduated from my masters here in Scotland (from Edinburgh) and this is the next step forward for me before a phd.
I would prefer somewhere I can stay for the full 6/7 months from the end of October to the start of May 2018 but could be willing to accept something shorter term although that would mean I would need to look again later obviously.
I am an easy going, sociable, friendly, open-minded and conscientious flatmate who has been in flat shares for years now. I am clean (a clean kitchen makes me happy as I love to cook - make a great chilli con carne). I also like to go for a drink now and then and as I'm new to the area finding new friends is important for me settling in. The priority however, is somewhere with a roof over my head and a room I can escape to when I need my own time.
I should add that on some weekends my girlfriend who is doing a year at Princeton would like to come stay. We are both busy people so will likely just take it in turns to visit each other on weekends so some I will be away there.
Because I'm not in the US until late October I would feel much more comfortable only paying once I have at least seen the property and am more likely to be interested if you can provide me with recent photos/my girlfriend could come for a viewing on my behalf.
I also very much am a believer that disputes shout be settled by talking to each other and allowing that to happen rather than shouting and bullying.
I am reliable regarding rental payments and have sufficient funds for the amount I've put in my budget.
If you're interested or have any questions at all please don't hesitate to contact me, just be aware at this moment in time I'm 5 hours ahead of you (the start date listed is when I intend to fly out).
Best Regards
Joe
